The summer months 2021 will introduce a brand new degree of uncertainty as to how we will continue to maintain the important human connection which was enjoyed by Rotary over the years. Although the "hands facing space" mantra is undoubtedly an integral part of our routine it is clear that the confidence in Rotary is growing, and more members are making contact with each other. The Rotary organization has evolved. While we are moving through in the summer of 2021 and the uncertainty regarding how Rotary will be able to offer the same level of human interaction which Rotary members had in the before continues. While the "hands facing space" principle is certain to be a part of the daily routines in our organization, there's no doubt that a sense of confidence is developing and more people are making face-to faces connections. Rotary is changing too. Rotary is a community that fosters long-lasting friendships. In order to keep the business meetings we hold online we have reintroduced service and social gatherings in a face-to-face setting. Our newfound opportunities have combined with our lessons about our past pandemics to bring a fresh perspective to Rotary. It was a pleasure to learn that according to the most recent Rotary study seventy percent of members were planning on their regular events and community initiatives that had previously been helpful to communities throughout Great Britain. The Rotary Support Center staff is also pleased to offer useful resources for the advancement of these programs, and keeping the infrastructure in place to keep everyone in the community protected. Compliance and insurance play an important role. We know that Rotary volunteers form lasting relationships because of their mutual commitment of time and effort. Our Rotarians have been able to find innovative and creative solutions for the toughest challenges. This is why I was thrilled to have the chance to be a part of Rotary in 2002. Rotary provided me, and many other people with a community of trustworthy like-minded individuals from which I've developed genuine friendships over the past 20 years.
