Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is an Mexican American Sportscaster. Her current role is a sportscaster for ESPN, working as an anchor of SportsCenter news and hosting SportsNation. The first time she worked for ESPN in the year 2016. She is the child of the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is a native speaker of two languages. When she was just nine years old, Collins's capacity to speak two languages has led to her obtaining a job in Miami as a production assistant at Univision. The family settled in Miami following the move out of Mexico to the US. They divorced shortly thereafter and her mother got married to an architect from the naval profession named Fabio Fajardo who died from kidney cancer in 2006. The couple stayed with her family in Canton Ohio with her older sister over the summer, where she had been offered the opportunity of a job. Antonietta is a senior in high school and knew exactly what career path she was looking for. So while assessing if Mount Union would be a good fit to her needs, Antonietta visited the university. The campus was stunning and offered the degree she was looking for. She finished school and attended the university with a media studies major. The professor she had was Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM, and was member of her class, developed an ongoing relationship with the student. Professor Bergmann encouraged her to believe in herself and was greatly moved by his love of journalism.
